As we move forward in promoting Oregon Paralyzed Veterans to the general public, we have participated in several new ventures to determine the effectiveness and value. This year we partnered up with AJS Racing to bring a little attention to our. The purpose of the partnership is to have the AJS 69 Camaro at events, bringing a little attention to our tent and information.
So far, we have picked up a few new members, volunteers and additional contacts that will help us raise awareness to the mission of Oregon Paralyzed Veterans. Al Sachenberg is the driver and owner of the quarter mile Camaro. He and his family truly believe in our mission. Al has been working with the Woodburn Drag strip to promote our organization. There is one more race at the drag strip where AJS will race which is the Fall Classics on September 12 – 13. If you would like to go the races, Bi-Mart gives out $5.00 discount coupons to help make the event affordable. The Drag Strip has accessible seating on both sides of the track and on the West side bleachers, the seating area is covered. If you want to get up and personal with the drivers and their cars, Woodburn is the place to turn back the time and be a teenager again.
This October if the weather holds, we will have the car and information tent at Turner Road Wal-Mart, in Salem to kick off the beginning of our ad campaign for Veteran’s Day. Next Year, we will have two or three special events at the track for members to get in free and have a lot of fun. In addition, we are also looking at putting on a car show and benefit concert in July.
