This is a public outreach for Project T.N.T. This fundraising program was established to provide an hour-long phone card to every Oregon soldier currently serving in the War against Terrorism. Project T.N.T. has increased the community's awareness of how valuable it is for a soldier to keep in contact with their loved ones. Whether it be to parents, a wife, a husband, children, or friends, the value of keeping in touch with life back home cannot be replaced. With the Holiday Season approaching, this communication with family and friends is extremely important.

If you know of any Oregon Soldiers that will be deploying to the middle east and would like them to get phone cards before they leave so they can phone home, please call Sam Learn or Jerry Ryan at our office at 1-800-333-0782 and give us their contact information and we will personally present them to their unit. Please let them know you saw it on our website!

OPVA has currently raised over $19,071 in their effort to provide phone cards to Oregon citizen soldiers. The goal is $25,000. Along with the phone card, each soldier will receive a note of support and thanks from Oregon citizens. The troops will also receive a lapel pin of the Oregon and American flags to remind them of the people back home who greatly recognize their sacrifice and service to our country.

Donations for Project T.N.T. can be made through the Oregon PVA office by donating $10 for a"Support Oregon's Soldiers"magnetic yellow ribbon or by a $5 donation for the Oregon/American crossed flag pins. Contributions can be also made at any Bank of the West, Banner Bank or Bank of Eastern Oregon. The account is"Oregon PVA -- Project T.N.T."Donations may also be made online on this page.

As of 3/29/06 Oregon PVA has distributed 2,650 phone cards to Oregon soldiers.
