Who We Are
. Since 1947, the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) has worked to meet the special needs of thousands of military veterans who have a spinal injury or disease. The Oregon Chapter was chartered in 1976.
. PVA is a dynamic, broad-based organization with more than 40 chapters and subchapters nationwide. In addition to its Washington, D.C. headquarters, PVA operates more than 50 service offices nationwide to serve the needs of PVA members and, in fact, all veterans.
. PVA is funded through private donations and accepts no public or government funds other than those grants which might be obtained in support of special projects.
WHAT WE DO
PVA fights for spinal-cord impaired veterans---and all Americans with a disability----to provide them with the laws necessary to enjoy "equal opportunity for all" - the American Dream for which all PVA members served in the military.
. PVA is the oldest and largest private funding source for spinal cord research,May 7, 2007tter care for those who now have a spinal cord injury or disease.
