Oregon Paralyzed Veterans of America
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Vehicle Donations

1-800-799-2538

General Procedures:

The operator will ask you a few questions to see if your vehicle qualifies for the program. The information will then be entered into a computer system that same day. The following day, an information package will be sent to you and a "pick-up request form" is sent to the local auction. The auction then contacts you to make arrangements to pick-up your vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. How long does it take to have a vehicle picked up?
The donor will receive their information pack in 3 or 4 days and will usually receive a call from the towing service 24 to 48 hours after that. The specific arrangements for picking up the vehicle are made between the donor and the local towing service.

2. Why don't you accept every car?
We determine the average sale price for similar vehicles sold at auction region by region. If the average is less than $150 we will lose money by continuing to accept those vehicles. Mobile homes, RVs, Commercial Trucks, and Boats are inspected before we make a commitment to accept the donation.

To donate your vehicle to the Oregon Paralyzed Veterans of America or for more information please call 1-800-799-2538. Or, donate online. Want to learn more? Visit the Vehicle Donation Processing Center for more information on donating your car.

Ink Cartridge Recycle Program Not Only Helps Our Environment but our Veterans & our Children!!!

Oregon PVA is pleased to announce a fundraising project that helps our many programs for our veterans as well as the environment. We are collecting empty inkjet cartridges to recycle. Each cartridge will earn OPVA two dollars. Over 1,000,000 cartridges are thrown away every day!! We could benefit from recycling some of those. All cartridges are not recyclable. The program will accept cartridges with a print head and many toner cartridges. This excludes all Epson cartridges and some Canon cartridges. The current list of accepted cartridges is available at (Link will open into a new window:) [Accepted Cartridge List can be found at recycleink.com and click on Accepted Cartridge List]
If you cannot open the file you can download it in pdf form but you will need Acrobat Reader to open: Free Download for Acrobat Reader

Accepted Cartridge List
Remanufactured cartridges cannot be accepted because they are not durable and can't be recycled a second time.

Please contact us at 1-800-333-0782 or fill out the request form below and we will send you free postage-paid bags to return your inkjet cartridges. Thank you for your generosity in supporting our veterans & children. You are helping us to help you.

Now able to accept Laser, fax, copier, toner cartridges & Cell Phones

We are now partnering with Cartridges for Kids in our fundraising efforts. The primary goal of their program is to provide environmentally friendly fundraising that is safe, educational and pays cash to schools and organizations, allowing them to fund projects that are a priority. By 2005, their goal is to pay over $10,000,000 for programs that benefit our children!

Secondly, their aim is to provide service and support to those who want to recycle empty printer cartridges and used cell phones. It is currently estimated that over 250 million pounds of empty cartridges are thrown into our landfills annually and this figure continues to rise. Recent reports suggest that by 2005 there could be as many as 500 million cell phones headed for our landfills. Together, with empty cartridges, this transforms into about 200,000 tons of waste which is significantly reduced by recycling. Participation in CFK is beneficial for both our organization and the environment.
